Playhead jumping ahead when recording

Playhead jumping ahead when recording

Following the thread I made in the general section I am filing a bug report on this issue.

To see exactly what happens, download this video

But basically when I hit record in this project the playhead skips ahead by a number of bars. The further into the song I am, the further ahead the playhead skips.

I have created a stripped down version of the project that exhibits this behaviour, download it here

Hey @richardyot, was able to watch the first vid. I myself have never seen this type of behaviour. Did you manage to progress with it? Have you tried creating a new project to see if it happens there?

The problem seems to be somehow related to this project - it's a bug I'm sure.

It sounds like maybe this is the Auto Return functionality. Do you have that enabled in the transport settings page?

It's not enabled - but would that cause the playhead to jump ahead like it does in the video?

It would cause the playhead to jump to the position it was last stopped.

That's not what's happening here - if you watch the video I posted in the OP you will see what happened in this case: the playhead jumps ahead, and the further you are in the timeline the further ahead it jumps.

Honestly, I haven't a clue why that might be happening. I've added it to my list to investigate further when I have some time to look into it.

Have you tried removing the locators and disabling loop mode to see if it still happens?
