Latency on armed track with new iPad????

Post by jrech » Thu Dec 06, 2018 2:04 pm

I am having a problem listening to my armed track on the new iPads. I have tried putting the buffer range to 512 and 256 and it didn’t work. I get a delay in the sound of my instruments. I am using Bluetooth AirPods and I have used setting and turned on the Bluetooth enable in settings. When I press record it records the track how I play it and it plays back in time. But when I listen to the input there is some latency. What could I change to get rid of this problem or Is it something I have to just get used to and deal with it?

You can’t avoid latency when using bluetooth earphones/speakers, it’s inherent to the technology as it is today and the codecs supported by Apple in IOS. You will have at least 100ms of delay when monitoring realtime input signals.

Thank you, I just ordered the headphone adapter for the iPad. I will be able to use the headphones with a chord for a while.
