Streaming platforms have started normalising songs to a common standard of -14LUFS, this is to ensure that there aren't sudden jumps in volume between tracks (think SoundCheck in iTunes).
The good news is that this means the loudness wars are over, because any tracks that are mastered to sound "loud" will simply have their volume reduced when streamed on iTunes, YouTube, and Spotify. So we can go back to having dynamics in music
This video show how to target the right loudness level in FabFilter Pro L2:

Re: Tutorial - using the new LUFS metering in Pro L2
Thanks for sharing the tutorial. I set up a short track and tried using L2 setup as in the vid. The only thing is at the end of the track I couldn’t stop the track play in the transport as long as L2 was open. Once I closed L2 pushing stop worked. Is it a bug in L2?

Sorry I don't think I've experienced that one, I'm pretty sure that while recording the video I stopped and rewound the track while Pro L2 was open but I'll retest when I get the chance.

Never mind ... I figured it out. My mistake ....
Re: Tutorial - using the new LUFS metering in Pro L2
Thanks for this video. I’m still new to understanding LUFS. Is there any other way to monitor LUFS in Auria besides the L2 plugin? I haven’t made that purchase yet. Just recently got the C2 plugin. Guess L2 will be next on the wish list.

Pro L2 is the only way to meter with LUFS that I know of directly in Auria.
There is an AU plugin by Klevgrand called Grand Finale that can meter with LUFS but the metering is not as nice as Pro L2 (it only does momentary metering so it's much harder to get an average).

You can actually see the average LUFS by selecting all and go to normalize and hit the scan button. It isn't really monitoring it, but it does give you an idea.
That being said Pro L2 is THE BEST!!! I use it for every podcast I edit!
