Anyone know a good LA2A emulation for Auria?

Post by supanorton » Wed Aug 30, 2017 8:38 am

I really like Fxpansion's Chan Comp for 1176 type sounds and see that Rough Rider can also get close to 1176, but iOS seems to be missing anything like an LA2A. I've read elsewhere that Pro-C2 can get very close, but I haven't much luck with it getting close enough. Anyone know of anything, have a theory for me to try, or willing to share a Pro-C2 LA2A preset? It just occurred to me that a combination of Pro-C and Saturn might get that LA2A gooey kind of sound. I'll have to experiment with that too.

Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Fill your 4 FX slots with this combination of Auria and AU3 plugins to get you pretty close. If you ever need a track passed through some real compressors just let me know and I will run it through an analog LA2a or 1176 or VariMu or API. Cheers.

Anthony, you are a genius. Thank you. Can't wait to try this.

And thank you for the offer.

I finally had a chance to play around with the chain Anthony suggested above, and I really dig it. It’s a little less aggressive than my normal chain and sounds really good. Lots of interesting tweaks can be made with each insert. Lots of fun and lots of possibilities. Thanks again, Anthony.

Very cool Anthony! (And a while back I tried to check out your studio tour on your YouTube channel, and it seems to have vanished. Was that intentional?)

Yes it was intentional. I only had it up for a short while. I am considering doing another one as I have aquired some more really cool gear. I’ll post a link if I do another studio tour. Cheers.
