Percussion app working with auria pro

Post by jrech » Sun Sep 03, 2017 11:31 am

Does anyone know of any apps that will do percussion sounds and work with auria pro? I am looking for congas, bongos, shaker for example. I have seen drumjam. Has any one used drumjam with success? Thank you for all of your help.

Drumjam is good, there is also Afro-Latin Drum Machine and Brazilian Drum Machine as well:

Which one is the best? I think I have Afro-Latin but it doesn't work as well with auria pro, or I am doing something wrong. Drumjam looked cool. I might try that out. I just got an Apple gift card so I am picking up some drum apps. Does drumjam work well with auria pro?

I got drumjam and it is pretty cool. I save the files to Dropbox and import them into auria pro. I also have Afro Latin drum machine but how do you use it with auria pro. I don't see a way to use midi or save the loop it creates anywhere? I might be missing something with Afro Latin. Please help me getting Afro Latin to work with auria pro.

Just load it as an IAA instrument in Auria and record the output.

I am going to let my knowledge fly on this one. What is an iaa? How do you set it up to get that? I understand to record the output but I don't know what to do before that. Is there instructions or a video on this? Thank you for you help. I really appreciate it. Drumjam is really cool. I got that and have figured some things out. I gave Afro-Latin drum machine but don't know what to do with it.

IAA is Inter-App Audio, the Apple protocol that preceded AUv3 for sending Audio between apps. It sounds like you may need to read up a bit on iPad audio because this is pretty basic stuff :)

To load an instrument app as an IAA in Auria, tap the FX button on the channel you want to record the instrument to, and then in one of the insert slots expand the list of plugins.

Image

Scroll down to see your IAA instruments which will be listed in blue (native plugins are listed in white, AUv3 in green, and IAA in blue). Select Afro-Latin Drum Machine from the list:

It will then be loaded in the insert on the channel:

Then set up the instrument ready to record, arm the track and record the output.

That makes sense. Thank you for teaching it to me. I will check it out and give it a try. I will also do some research on it and learn more about it.
