Fab Filter Pro R - is an iOS version coming for Auria

Post by eustressor » Sat Nov 05, 2016 9:16 pm

Just stumbled across this video from Fab Filter for Pro R, scheduled for November 15 release. I wonder if there's any sign they may make this available in Auria?

sounds like they're on it. Looking forward to a new native reverb plugin to play with in Auria :)

I'd like them to fix match EQ for Pro Q 2 as well.

Cool runnings guys,

Really looking forward to this one! (for years) lol

Going to be watching this like a hawk. Also looking forward to seeing the official video/s.

This is one of those elements that will (for me) complete Auria, there's not much else I yern for, except a fully programmable sampler. ;)

Added: the reverb I've been 'yearning' for is/was specifically Fabfilter.

What about 'Match EQ' isn't working? I use it regularly and it seems to work just fine for me.

Interesting..

Can you give (us) the steps you take?

Cheers,

Sure thing.
First load ProQ2 on the channel you want to effect. Then load the audio to want to try to match onto another channel. Then select that channel in the 'side chain' section of ProQ2.

Image

Push play and then click on 'EQ Match'. Let the audio run just a bit and it will detect the side chain audio and try to create an EQ curve that makes the current channels audio match it EQ wise. Hit 'Match' and then stop your audio.

Then select how many bands you want ProQ2 to use and adjust from there...

Cheers @levispeights,

Gonna give this a try shortly and post my results. I'm sure I've tried a few times without achieving this.

Your detailed explanation/example is appropriated!

Cheers,

King

:D yes, it does work.. (as in, got it working).

What I (and possibly others) have been doing in the past (and also just now) was, I was not running any audio through/in the track I wanted to get matched, (the target track that is).

My thinking was it would show the curves regardless of if there was audio on the target track, as long as there was a signal/audio coming from the source track. (It does show the red sidechain spectrum) tricking you into thinking its set up correctly. :p
So many toys to play with I didn't investigate any further, but as I say "each one, teach one". ;) cheers!

Will be experimenting more with this 'New!' (to me anyway, lol) feature later.

L8ta,

King

Added: also I guess subconsciously I was aware that the 'Specrum Grab' feature is disabled on iOS, and maybe mixing them both as not working etc..

More added: looking back over the manual regarding 'EQ Match' I think the phrase 'input and side-chain' which are used often, had (me) thinking they were one and the same. But reading it now I can clearly see the difference, and the overall logicalness.

(Input) in this case, I guess it means input into the 'EQ match', so the target is also an input etc, etc, etc..

I like to fully satisfy my mind :p.

King

: I feel my brain growing
And Auria Pro expanding..

:D Anyway back to the original topic.. 'Fabfilter Pro-R(everb)'..

Only one week till it's main launch, and the stories and (expected) WOW!'s will start to show up.

Brightness.
Character.
Distance.
Space.
Decay Rate.
Stereo Width (which I was definitely hoping for).
And it (R) being totally EQ-able.

And then all the other/hidden gems/capabilities. Just hope it caters for good lush! ;)

Looking Forward,

King

: "good lush" what's that.. haha..

"I make most of my comments like I make most of my music, with happiness and joy, which is how (I) am! :D

Here you go..

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=m86FrelkIu4

I haven't even watched it yet!

King

11:33 am: watched it now.

Lovely! :D

Some of the audio examples used were not great for showing off a reverb (for me) e.g.; 'Sustained' piano, but I could get a pretty good idea of the quality of the plugin, it's great, it's Fabfilter! the vocal let me know for sure.
(Maybe the vid was backward-ish). ;)

Understand more now about the Decay Rate EQ/possibilities, 'De-ess' as an example.

I defo heard '*good lush', and the Stereo Width control goes beyond 100%. Wow! :) (11) lol

All in all it's looking/sounding good, going back to watch again.
Video is an introduction, so look for more..
