Track bleed through

Post by Skippy567 » Fri Jan 01, 2016 2:26 pm

I'm recording guitars through amplitude into Auria via an irig device that's using the headphone jack. When I record the guitar and listen to the playback solo I hear the drums and click on the guitar track recorded or bleeding through??
Am I doing something wrong? I will be getting an irig pro so to avoid going in the headphone jack via the Lightning connector instead.

Headphone jack interfaces are notorious for bleed through. A digital interface should get rid of it.

That's an old iRig device. The new ones all go through the Lightning connector. I have an iRig Pro, it's excellent.

Use a headphone amp to boost your monitoring level. That way the bleed-through will be less audable. I have used a radio (with aux in) to boost the headphone level. But that was long ago. ...By the way: isn't there still a steep 100Hz high pass filter on the IOS headset input?

Thanks for all the ideas but it sounds like a simple upgrade to a lightning connecter
would work? Yes?

Yes. The iRig Pro will solve it nicely.

Apogee Jam is also a nice connector. Similar to the irig Pro. Small form factor. Single line input. I love mine.
