Record guitar in auria with sm57 and irig pro?

Post by BossToneS » Fri Aug 21, 2015 6:21 am

Hi All,

I'd like to record my guitar by using a microphone in front of my amp.
I got an ipad air2, irig pro, sm57 and auria....but can't get it to work.
I only get it to work when interapp bias fx is linked, but then it uses the bias effects and amps, even though sound comes from the mic.
I tried several settings but can't get it to work in auria, does anyone on the forum has experience with it or can explain how to set it up?

Thanks,
Remco

no recommendations for apps (interapp or audiobus) if needed at all?
no tips on possible changes of settings...anything to push me in the right direction?

thanks in advance...

You don't need any apps open except Auria to record your amp. After arming the track, you hit record. You may need to check the input matrix. Tap and hold the arm button on the channel strip and then open the input matrix. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information,
That's what I thought and tried, tapping and holding is just a different route to the input matrix right? nothing additional is set with this action i guess?
Currently i can only get sound (both record and listening) from te mic if i use the vocalive app.
I ordered some different cables to see if routing it through a mixer has it's effect, so haven't tried my current setup recently, but i believe I got it as far as recording sound with the method described, but not able to hear it at the same time...
Now doubting if I overlooked something, gonna doublecheck tonight....
Thanks again.

Just a basics check of the ipad inner sanctum of privacy? I'm not sure how this all works
with the inter-app success but just a stab
I hope you get it working

Getting no input in Auria with iOS7?

If you're not able to get any input when recording in Auria (under iOS7), there's a simple fix:

1. Open your iPad's settings page
2. Go to Privacy, then Microphone
3. Find Auria in the list, and enable the switch next to it.

Thanks guys,

It's working, going to privacy And switching the microphon ON for auria solved the issue.

However, i got another issue now, when i plug my guitar in a mixer, from the mixer into the irig pro and then into auria.
This works ok, but when i use bias fx(interapp) in auria, it seems it's bypassing bias fx, when i switch the microphone ON(privacy settings) it's using the bias fx amps, but then i got terrible feedback...

I'm gettin closer...
Has someone got an idea or solution on how to solve the feedback issue?
Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

i am new to Auria so not an expert...

Are you saying if you plug in n your mic you can not hear it, it does not record or both?

Does it work on n GarageBand?

Are you using headphones or monitor speakers?
