I use Drumperfect it works very nicely and is pretty organic sounding. I also
Use Drumloops HD and some of the Morevox loops. If your looking for a drum machine
App for acoustic drums and roll your own beats Drumperfect is about as good as
It gets on IOS.

Do either of these allow you to trigger the sounds with a midi kit?

Yes you can use your midi kit to control Drumperfect. I use it daily for this. And with the new GUI and feature release it will be killer. Now this is how ios GUI desighn should look instead of flat lines and circles.

Cool!

This may be a stupid question, but how do you record along to a track? Are you using drumperfect through IAA or Audiobus or something? Don't you get latency problems?

ok so Drumperfect has a midi learn for each of the drum samples that are loaded in the kit. Just set the learn by tapping and hit one of your drum kits toms or whatever pad you want and drumperfect will detect that and saves it with the kit. You then adjust things like level, pan, velocity ect. I recommend using no Reverb in drumperfect so set that to none. chews up too much cpu. A fresh start of the ipad helps to reduce any latency problems. Now load up Auria and choose drumperfecrt in IAA plugin. Since you already set up your pads with drumperfect your ready to record. Thats it. cheers.

I use Drumperfect to create patterns then export them into Auria using paste board.
You can export individual drums or stereo patterns, I'm not much of a drummer so
this works best for me. You can then use Auria's effects to further sculpt the drum
sounds. Individual drums is more flexible but a little more time consuming to set
up. Usually worth the extra time it takes me with individual drums.

Sounds ideal - that way the world of Drumagog is open to me. Always wanted to give that a whirl.

Drum export into Auria.

The easiest way to get individual tracks from Drumperfect into Auria is to use IAA, with each track set to a different instrument in Drumperfect.

It works really well, but then is just one thing that might catch you out: as well as the IAA inserts for the individual tracks, you will need to have one track set up for "Drumperfect (all instruments)" because without that the individual tracks won't record. Also be sure to press and hold the record enable on the IAA tracks and set "record effects".

Hi Anthony,
Would you say the latency is acceptable? i.e. around <12 ms.

Hi Marty, definately much less than 12ms more like 3-5ms. On my iPad Air 1 no real noticable latency. Cheers bro.

Oh man, that makes it too tempting.

How am I supposed to afford all these cool things and the Auria Pro upgrade?
