Auria Output to Bluetooth Speaker

Post by rickwaugh » Sat Sep 13, 2014 7:48 pm

I was having a problem today trying to hook up my iPad to an IK Multimedia iLoud, to try it out. Could not get Auria to output to it. Got youtube to do it for a short spell. I just assumed that connecting with a bluetooth speaker would direct the sound out there.

Auria won't output to bluetooth. You'll have to connect to iloud by a cable.

Many of the bluetooth speakers include a wired audio cable connector, iLoud as well.

Yeah, I know, it's wired, but at least the option is there if needed.

The iLoud's Bluetooth implementation is shockingly bad. You're missing nothing - it sounds dreadful across BT.

That seems odd. So the only way to output to iLoud from Auria is via a cable from the headphone jack? Nuts, I was hoping it would be simpler than that. Why can't Auria output to Bluetooth? I just assumed that if one were connected to bluetooth, any sound from the iPad would follow that path.

Here's a thread from last March about Bluetooth audio and Auria/iOS.

Well, that explains a lot. Thanks.

I hate using cables, is there really no other way to connect?

Maybe it's wise for Apple to change their vision on this now that the Iphone 7 has no socket to output to a speaker. It makes it impossible to hook up a keyboard to the iphone and use a headphone or extended speaker..... Or am I missing something?

There will be USB C accessories that you will have to purchase just like you I did when I fruit moved to lightning over that older port.
