Thanks Rim. I do have an interface (Griffin Studioconnect) that I haven't tried since installing 7.1 - I will post again as soon as I get a chance to try it. However, rather than go back to 7.06 (can I do that? I didn't know I could roll back to the previous version), I prefer to stay with the latest ios as much as possible. If the problems goes away with the audio interface, I guess I'm all set (although it still would be nice the have you guys resolve it on your end). Thanks again!

Tried to create a 96K project Zoom H6 unplugged. Fail.
Even the virtual keyboard's sounds are missing during the name edit. After "return" - quitting.
2. try
Zoom H6 plugged - OK.
Created new 96K projekt- OK.
Edit, monitor...OK. Recording some tracks ..OK
Unplugged the Zoom - and try replay the 96K project - without ZoomH6 - quit

Have you tried a 96K project with all audio interfaces unplugged? This seems to be an issue with iOS7.1

no. I have heard of problems without interface, so I did not try. 44.1 and 96 kHz projects with interface is fine, that's all I can say, sorry. Maybe I should add that I don't see any sense in 96 kHz projects using the built-in microphone.

Tried it with the interface. No luck. It seemed ok at first (didn't crash out immediately like before) but eventually started showing the same problems. I guess I'll just have to stay away from 96kHZfor the time being. It works fine with 44.1kHZ and 48kHZ.

96K should work fine by plugging in any interface that supports 96K, and leaving it plugged in while using that project.

I've just found a way to fix this, and will be posting an expedited update very soon.

That explains it. I don't think the Studioconnect is capable of 96k. They have one called a Studioconnect HD that I believe does. I guess it'll have to be 44.1/48 for now. Actually, my desktop runs at 24/96. I guess I'll use that for any 96k projects until I can upgrade the Studioconnect. Good to hear that you have a fix coming, though.

Addendum: I checked that the Studioconnect I have is limited to 24-bit 48kHz which is probably as high as I'd want to go anyway in a practical sense.

that is correct. I have another interface that has a fixed sampling rate of 44.1 kHz, and with that one I can only do Auria project at 44.1 kHz. Which is enough for common line-in and middle-class microphones.

Actually I'm quite satisfied with 44.1 as I have never felt the need to go higher - even with my desktop DAW which can go into the higher sample rates.
