recording 8 tracks simultaneously with an Ipad2

Post by Fangio » Fri Dec 06, 2013 8:03 am

Hi guys
I was wondering if purchasing a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 or a Presonus vsl1818 is worth for my ipad2.
Am I going to be able to record simultaneously 8 tracks on my older IPad ?
can anyone share his experiences?
what would you recommend ? buy an iPad air before considering buying multitrack interfaces such as these?

thanks in advance for your help

greetings from France

Well I have used PreSonus AudioBox 44VSL USB Audio Interface and is best for recording multiple tracks.I thought it will be completely compatible for your IPad.

Hi Fangio,

I use a Presonus 1818 when recording with my band and have recorded 8 simultaneous tracks on my iPad2 without any major troubles, just make sure you shut all other apps down, airplane mode etc to preserve memory when recording. I usually use 44100 setting at 512 latency. Hope this helps.
