There must be a way, please? Is there any hope of accessing USB attached storage via the CCK? DAW's produce large files and filesets, there's no way around that. Having to rely on cloud based storage to offload projects from the iPad is slow and ultimately, expensive. Docking the iPad and using iTunes File Sharing on a mac/PC is clunky at best and not portable in many cases. Juggling multiple large projects is a problem.
From what I have gleaned from the interwebs, Apple has the iPad so locked down that it will not allow simple USB storage to be used as a mechanism to backup the device, go figure. The only solutions I have seen out there require jailbreaking the iPad which is not an option for a lot of reasons.
Is there a path in the future to support such a simple thing as USB attached storage: hard drive, SD, thumb drive, etc.?
Lack of USB storage is a limiting factor.

have you considered getting a wireless mobile drive, like this one:

You're right, Apple doesn't allow access to external drives in a traditional way. But there are wireless drives available for iOS devices. The limitation with these drives is that they only work with certain apps. And you can't use them as a "hard drive". You can only copy files back and forth. In other words, even if Auria supported one of the formats for these drives, you wouldn't be able to use it as your main data drive for Auria. You would still need to use the built-in iPad storage, but you have the option of copying your data onto the wifi drive after you're done recording, for example.

Hi,
That's not the solution because of no possibilities to direct access it inside the app's
Dropbox partially do the job, but is toooo slow, and need a web access.
The lack of the abilitie to quickly preview/load sounds from this kind of wireless storage as you describe is the problem
