This device is not supported error -ipad mini/akai EiE
Hi all
I'm having some problems getting an ipad mini and akai EiE ( not the pro version which I know doesn't work )
What I using:
Ipad mini 16gb wifi
Auria with latest upgrade
Powered USB hub with mini USB connection to the akai device ( tested loath USB devices ok )
End on
Two different 3rd party lightening camera connection kits
Ihad a budget for buying this setup and am now broke !
I either get nothing on the inputs or the "device not support on ipad " error
Can anybody help me ?
Doi need an original apple cck ? Or is it possibly the powered USB hub that's the problem.
I know the Ipad mini , akai eie and auria should work but have no idea why it's not working for me , I briefly saw the 4 in puts working once and was even able to get a signal once but then it stopped working and that's why I got a different ipad cck lightening connector . These are from eBay and are only a few quid .

Hello,
Auria only supports using the official Apple CCK--it is very possible that the third-party devices could be your problem. We have also had people report problems with certain powered USB hub.
The fact that you had it working temporarily makes it seem like a connection issue, and therefore it is even more likely that it stems from the CCK or the powered hub.
Best,
Chris

The Akai EiE works flawlessly on my ipad2 16g without a powered hub. I use an
official Apple camera connection kit so I'm also betting it has something to do
with your connector. Have you tried it without the hub?
Best wishes for success !

I have an iPad4 with the Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter and Akai EIE without a USB hub. Works flawless.

OP- don't use a powered hub. No need to.
Plug cck - USB - EIE

Which reminds me- @matt the working audio interface lists the EIE as needing a powered hub to work, which may be misleading. The EIE has its own power supply,(wall wart) and the hub is built into the back, making the EIE the most versatile audio interface for the iPad I have encountered.
Not to mention it has inserts!
