"This accessory is not supported by iPad"

Post by louparte » Sat Jun 15, 2013 12:58 am

I use an iPad2 64G with an Alesis ioDock.

Today - for the first time ever - iPad gave me this message:

"This accessory is not supported by iPad."

I guess someone at Apple overnight just decided. I can no longer use
my iPad w/my ioDock. I had no problems using it before.

Boy am I pissed off!

I guess this means so long Auria. Your software is great.
But it has bee ncreasingly clear to me that iPad RAM
is simply inadequate for my digital audio.
And now - my interface doesn't work.

Good work RIM. Your software is great. But the hardware no longer functions.

This message will show up with plug-in devices (CCK, MPKmini etc) every now and then regardless of which iPad you have. In most cases, unplugging the device, turning the iPad off and then re-plugging it in will clear the issue.

Hi, I get the same message every time I record with my 1818. It usually pops up after about 3-4 mins after I plug the interface in, however pressing OK on the message clears it and everything works as normal.

In most cases, you'll only see this message when using a third-party Camera Connection Kit (non-Apple brand). Also, this message will pop up if you're trying to use an unsupported USB device. But in a few rare cases, this can pop up even when using a supported device. It's usually fixed by rebooting.

Thanks everybody. You're right. Eventually it worked.

This particular project should be easy. But it's been one thing after another - a slew of RAM warnings,
white noise wiping out 1 second of the song.

2 bass tracks
2 acoustic guitar tracks
2 electric archtop tracks
6 background vocal tracks
1 lead vocal track.

I think my mistake was recording @ high sampler rate .wav instead of .mp3.
That caused the RAM & all the other problems.
