Hi Auria team. I am just getting started with Auria and the iPad4. I want to purchase the best audio interface for Auria. I want 8 simutaneous in's so it looks like my only options are the Focusrite 18i20 and the Presonus 1818VSL. Is that correct? If so which is the better unit to go with?
Just so it's clear, I am looking to connect the iPad directly to an audio interface using the Apple Camera Connection Kit using Auria as the DAW software. When I talk to Presonus, they say that configuration is not supported and that is not what the 1818VSL is meant to be used for. They told me that it should be wired up to a PC or Mac running Auria and use the iPad to remote control the PC or Mac.That's cool and all, but I want to just grab the audio interface and the iPad and record live shows and use in my home studio.
I have read countless articles online that people are using the iPad with the Apple connector, Presonus or Focusrite, and the iPad4 with Auria. Does it work with Presonus, but they just don't simply support it or is it not supported because it is a buggy solution?
Can you guys set me straight on this please? Before I go ordering an input device, I want to make sure it is intended for this purpose and is not a buggy solution.
Thanks for your help!
Brian
iPad4 with Presonus 1818VSL or Focusrite 18i20
Re: iPad4 with Presonus 1818VSL or Focusrite 18i20
The 1818vsl works just fine with iPad apps, including Auria. I think Presonus doesn't want to officially support iPad apps.

Yeah, I think so too. Rim, do you have a preference on which of the two interfaces works better with Auria?
Thank you for your help!

I prefer the Focusrite, because it doesn't require a USB hub.
