Re: CLOCKING... MASTER/SLAVE
at this time there is no option to sync Auria with a DAW (if that's what you're asking). I tried once to use the app Magellan (who has MIDI and WIST) to start Auria from my DAW, but it didn't work.
But MIDI is something that is planned in a future update. Then it should be possible to have Auria as slave. Depending on the MIDI implementation (MTC or only MIDI Clock) and your DAW, also as master.

Re: CLOCKING... MASTER/SLAVE
Im basicly talking about audio samplerate syncing...
I wanna get directly IN and OUT via SPDIF or ADAT without AD/DA Conversion..
MIDI sync would be the next step..
but first i need to get the sound out of it...
cheers

Re: CLOCKING... MASTER/SLAVE
Sample clocks are handled by the audio interface you're using. An iPad really has no way to control any of those settings. So if you use an interface which has wordclock input, and you can set the clocking to use it, it should work fine. But you'll need to use the supplied control panel program on your Mac or PC to make those changes.

Re: CLOCKING... MASTER/SLAVE
that means auria / the ipad / IOS is taking clock orders (master or slave) from the interface that is connected.. ??
is there any "main clock section" in IOS or is every app handle it by itself..??
i.e the fireface UCX has adat spdif and wc in...
in standalone mode i think its possible to choose master or slave.. ??
would the ipad take the order and clock the apps as selected in the UCX.. ??
i think we getting close..
thnx

Re: CLOCKING... MASTER/SLAVE
The RME Babyface, running in Class Compliant mode, will allow you to select the sample rate with the Babyface as Master, from 44.1 to 192KHz, or set to Autosync, which will lock to an external ADAT or S/PDIF sync signal. It defaults to Autosync, and if there is no external clock, will run at 44.1KHz. Changing the setting can be accomplished without plugging the Babyface into a computer - there are a sequence of key presses and lights while running in Class Compliant mode. All very clever. I don't think the UCX is as sophisticated in CC mode.

Re: CLOCKING... MASTER/SLAVE
"Clever" sounds very nice...
this is exactly what im looking for..
i have a master clock where i set up the sample rate and this is it..
i dont have the time to plug and switch everytime i need another sampleratre..
i took a look over the babyface manual but didnt find anything on changing samplerate as a master in cc mode...
is there a keystroke too.. ??
babyface steadyclock isnt that bad and could be an alternative via adat for me..
but it must be clever and quik too..
cheers..

Re: CLOCKING... MASTER/SLAVE
iOS apps have zero control over the interface. You only get audio in and audio out. There's no way to control anything else. So if it can be done with the interface's own control panel, it'll probably work fine.

Re: CLOCKING... MASTER/SLAVE
Look at the first post on the RME Babyface CC thread on their forum:
http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16104
You will see the link to the PDF files in English and German which explain how to operate the Babyface in CC mode, without using a computer at all.
You need to upgrade to the latest Firmware, v201, which is also linked to in the first post. You will need a computer (Mac or PC) to do the Firmware upgrade.
