Auto Scroll

Post by dbgrass » Fri Aug 03, 2012 6:33 pm

I have been working on a project for about a week now. I have noticed that auto scroll sometimes stops working in the track view. Not sure why. It is probably something I am doing wrong, but I can't figure out what it is.

It's pretty disconcerting, so if any one of the administrators would like to look at my project to see what is happening, I will gladly send it to them. I almost bought one of the more expensive audio interfaces, but I had better wait to see if this and other issues are resolved first. Thanks!

The autoscroll automatically stops scrolling if you manually scroll off the screen. This is by design, so you're not fighting with autoscroll constantly when you scroll manually. To get it to scroll again automatically, just move the cursor into the current view area.

Hi Rim,

Thanks for your response. However, I am not sure I completely understand. BTW I am using an iPad3.

What happens is "occasionally" in the in the full auto scroll mode, the cursor leaves the screen (the screen doesn't get refreshed for some reason). This usually happens after some editing has been done, not normally when the project is first opened fresh. It also seems to have something to do with markers, because when scrolling stops a marker is usually nearby. If this is normal behavior, I apologize in advance for this post. :)

Thanks,
Dave

The recorder is in "play" mode of course. Further testing, if markers are removed (even those not near the cursor) the playback appears to be is normal. Then I replaced one marker 1/4 of the way in the project, and upon playback form 1:1:1.000 Auria failed refresh to the second screen. Then, I rewound to 1:1:1.000 again, and it worked. I am at 91% magnification.

Anyway, I hope this helps.

Ok, great, looks like a bug. I'll have a look that this.

Thanks,

Thanks for your help, Rim. If you would like to try to duplicate it, I just ran a test with "The Approach" demo without mods. I placed markers at 1:21:248 and 3:01.809. Resolution 93%. From start at 0, the autoscroll stopped near the first marker (about 3 screen refreshes into the song).

@rim, i've also run into an issue with autoscroll - it doesn't seem to work while i'm making a recording.

Yeah the display isn't always updating properly. Sometimes when manually scrolling left or right there'll be only a grey area, but that's gone as soon as i scroll again.

Scrolling is disabled during recording, to minimize CPU usage.

i see. at least the screen can still be manually scrolled while recording; which doesnt seem to effect the playback/recording quality
