MIDI controller for iodock2

Post by Cookie81 » Mon Nov 28, 2016 3:16 pm

Hi all I am currently using the alesis iodock 2 with auria for recording guitar and vocals but am just about to purchase a midi keyboard controller! I'm new to midi side of things and am trying to find out what controllers people are using with the iodock. I have been looking at the alesis q49 and m audio key station 49 but am not sure if they will both compatible with the idock, my preference reading reviews would be the m audio key station! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks in advance

The ioDock2 has both MIDI din and MIDI USB ports so any MIDI controller keyboard you are looking at will probably work. I am not sure why Alesis opted to put a USB type B port on the ioDock2 as most all keyboards will come with a USB B to A cable (and type B is standard on all MIDI controllers). You may want to look into that, but you can always use the Din connection anyway.
