iConnectAudio 4 powering 2 iPads on the same time?

Post by Ohmnoise » Fri Dec 04, 2015 6:22 am

Hello iConnectAudio 4 user,

Anyone running 2 iPads with this interface and can confirm this feature:

"USB Device Jack 1 will charge an iOS device. USB Device Jack 2 will keep an iOS device charged or almost charged, or it may charge a smaller iOS device (depending on usage)." from their manual

So does it power up 2 iPads on the same time or even hold the battery appreciably longer working?

Jack 1 definitely charges the iPad, Jack 2 appears to hold the battery charge in check.
I have the iPad4, apparently this has the heaviest current draw of all iPads with the exception of the iPad Pro.

There is only one iPad connection cable in the box, I have been waiting on back order 2nd cable for 1 month..still no sign. Can confirm once I have 2 cables.

Together with an iConnectAudio 4 and two ipad pros?

If so, could you please report us about how stable the connection between Audio and Midi is and if you hear any noticeable latency if you use 128 buffer size?

This sounds like a dream constellation.

It looks like the iConnectivityaudio4 is having problems with iOS 9 and El Capitan. I don't have this interface but was considering it but will hold off for now until they resolve the noise issues.

Mine works fine without latency or pops after I set the clock master to be the iPad...

I'm only connecting one iPad though...

YMMV

Can you use a USB B adapter with a lightning cable?

Yes, iConnectivity actually includes a USB B to Lightning cable with the Audio4+

Just wondering. The adapter costs a couple of bucks on Amazon or Monoprice, vs the $39.00 for the cable... The cable has an enlarged section at one end, so I wondered if there was something special about it, other than being robust.

Thanks
