Rode NT-USB gain

Post by Corey W » Tue Jun 23, 2015 10:36 am

Because Auria doesn't offer a software based gain control for external hardware (at least right now), you may be running into some gain issues if your USB mic doesn't have a built in gain control.

For anyone that has a Rode NT-USB mic and would like better gain control with the microphone in Auria, follow these steps below-

The solution to control the mic gain for the Rode NT-USB in Auria is to download Rode's free app called 'Rode Rec LE' on the App Store.

-Launch your project in Auria
-Plugin the Rode to your iPad via CCK
-Go back to the home screen and launch the Rode Record LE app
-Make a new recording via the '+' button in the upper left corner
-Now in the Rode app you can click on the microphone icon on the top left and change the 'Mic Gain'
-Double click the home button and go back into Auria to now find your gain levels have changed accordingly.

Thanks Corey.
Very helpful. I have the Rode iXY.
The "Rode Rec LE" app ui is just blech. I really hope they update it soon.

It almost seems to be abandoned right now, but your post has helped a great deal with how to use it more effectively.
