I'm trying to decide between the 2 units.
As i understand 18i8 is fully supported by Auria, i.e. will record multiple inputs (2+) simultaneously, at a high bit/sample rate. Can somebody confirm it? (This device is listed on http://www.auriaapp.com/Support/auria-audio-interfaces)
What i'm not clear about is the Class Compliance mode on UR44. Is it Class 2.0? Will it allow recording multiple inputs simutaneously in Auria?
Also will i be able to leverage the built-in DSP effects from within Auria?
Thanks in advance!
Steinberg UR44 or Focusrite Scarlett 18i8?
Re: Steinberg UR44 or Focusrite Scarlett 18i8?
I have found something:
Not sure if it applies to UR44
This is from http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/au ... dates.htmliPad support
The UR824 and UR28M can now be switched to CC (Class Compliant) mode**. In this mode the UR28M and UR824 work with the iPad (2 or later) through Apple’s iPad Camera Connection Kit. Combining the UR units with an iOS audio application, such as Steinberg’s Cubasis, allows you to feed simultaneously through eight channels of input and output for the UR824 and four input channels as well as six output channels for the UR28M.
**Please note that in CC mode you can only use the analog inputs and outputs. Currently, there is no iOS app available that allows you to control the DSP-based effects.
