The reason I did this is because Audiobus mode causes higher CPU usage, and it's also not possible to use the Convolution Reverb when in this mode, so it's off by default. Auria uses a higher audio buffer size than most other audio apps, and as a result Auria is able to squeeze more CPU out of the iPad, but this also means it's not as compatible when used in conjunction with other apps, unless Audiobus mode is on.

@gogae22: You can turn on Audiobus Mode in 'Menu -> Settings -> General(Tab) -> Audiobus Mode:'. It is not a global setting so it applies to the current project only. But every time that project is loaded (or if it is the current project when Auria is launched) that setting will apply. So, you only need to set Audiobus Mode to ON in Settings once per project and it will be remembered. The same is true of App Background Audio Mode.

N.B.: When Auria is launched FROM WITHIN Audiobus, Audiobus Mode and App Background Audio Mode are automatically turned on for that session - even if they are OFF in the project's Settings.

Ah, but what happens to the buffer size in Auria when it is launched from within Audiobus 2 with ITS buffer size set at 256? Does AB2's buffer size automatically get bumped up to 512 to match Auria's Audiobus Mode default?

I think Auria's Audiobus Mode should include an option to select a default buffer size of 256 or 512, which would align with AB2's settings. @Rim, perhaps you can implement this when you update Auria to use AB2's latest API (SDK)?

Thanks!!! :)

It's the other way around, isn't it? i.e. Auria's buffer size gets matched to AB's (which could be 128/256/512/1024).

Here's how it work on iOS: whichever app launches first gets to dictate the buffer size. So if Audiobus launches first, and its buffer size is set to 256, all other apps launched afterwards operate with a buffer size of 256.

@Rim: ...but, for clarity, what is the score when AB is not running but Audiobus mode = ON in Auria's settings? Presumably it's as you said - unless Auria is the first audio app loaded. What buffer size does Auria use then?

Enabling Audiobus mode will cause Auria to use a buffer size of 512, but only if it is started first. If another audio app is already started, Auria will use whatever buffer size that other audio app used. It doesn't matter if Audiobus itself is loaded or not in this case.
