Regions disappear when i record on same track

Post by nilleb6 » Tue Oct 08, 2013 6:35 am

Hi,

When I've recorded a region on a track, and then want to jump ahead in the time-line and record a new region on the same track, but a minute after the first region in the project. Then the first region becomes a copy of the region number 2.
So to come around that problem, I need to record region number 2 on a new track otherwise the recording i did on region number 1 disappear and has been replaced with region number 2.

I hope you understand what I mean and can help me!! :)

I'm not sure I understand. In Auria, each time you press record to record a new region, it creates a unique region. So if you record two regions (even on the same track), they are not "copies", but independent regions.

For example:

1. Create a new project with 1 track
2. Press Record Enable on track 1
3. Press Record, then Play
4. Stop
5. Move the timeline to 1 minute
6. Press Record, then Play
7. Stop

Now I have two regions. The first one starts at 0:00 and the second one starts at 1:00.

Can you describe in a bit more detail what you're trying to accomplish?

Thanks,
Rim

Yes, that example explains it well.

1. Create a new project with 1 track
2. Press Record Enable on track 1
3. Press Record, then Play
4. Stop
5. Move the timeline to 1 minute
6. Press Record, then Play
7. Stop

Most of the times that works. But often when i have over 10-15 tracks, and then want to add a region starts at 1:00 on track 5 for example (the first region on track 5 is only between 00:00-00:20), my first region doesn't have the same audio as before. Either the first region disappear or get the same audio as region 2 instead..

That's not normal. Would you mind sending me your project, so I can try this here and see what's going on? You can send it using DropBox to: rim at drumagog dot com

Thanks,
Rim
