Fabfilter Pro C sidechain

Post by Coopmusic247 » Fri Oct 04, 2013 4:34 pm

The Fabfilter Pro C sidechain feature is not working correctly. I can setup a side chain and set it monitor the External key but the filters across the bottom of the expert panel don't change a thing. Also the side chain doesn't actually cause any change to the signal. The display also is completely defunct of any changes no matter what changes I make to the parameters.

I just thought about purchasing pro-c because of the sidechain feature ... Has anyone the same experiences ?

I only purchased it a couple of days ago and had one quick try yesterday at sidechaining, but also couldn't get any result.
I'll have a proper look later and report back with any findings.

Cheers

O.k, just had another quick look and I've got it working just fine on the regular channel strip, but it didn't seem to react on the busses. Not sure why that would be?

Were you running in 64 bit mixer mode? Can you try in both modes to see if it makes a difference?

I'll check, but my problem seems to be bus only as well.
Actually, I'll check on a different project because I already worked around the problem and don't want to enable 64-bit and mess something up *originally, currently not in 64-bit.

The two modes have separate audio paths, so I just wanted to see if there's a bug in one of the modes.

Thanks,
Rim

Hi Rim, I never use 64bit mixer mode, but I just tried it and it makes no difference. The sidechain works in both mixer modes on the channel strip, but no input signal shows on the bus.

Cheers

When you say "busses", are you talking about inserting the plugin into a subgroup Masterstrip?

I'm sorry, that wasn't clear. Yes a subgroup.

I also have the same problem.
Sidechaining Fabfilter Pro C on a subgroup sometimes works but most of the times doesn't.
