coreAudio repeat crash

Post by Earl » Tue Jul 16, 2013 9:03 am

Pop-up screen has been firing off for the last month, finally getting around to asking for help/ideas.

Ipad 2 16g
1st edition Apogee One.

I shut down/restart with headphones in Apogee One,as prompted, still get the pop-up window, then sound comes and goes.
What am I doing wrong? Can't even get started.
I've seen previous posts concerning Jam and coreAudio problems, but not sure if there is/was a resolution.
Does this have anything to do with input settings from Garageband?

Thx in advance.

The message you get is referring to having the headphones plugged into the iPad's socket, not the One's socket. Do you have anything plugged into the iPad's headphone socket?

OK, and what does the message say exactly?

Thanks,

" we've identified a bug in the coreAudio system which can cause issues
if the headphones are plugged in after plugging in this device. To avoid
any issues, always plug in headphones before plugging in this device"

Rim,
I read the thread of "crashing on iPad mini" and the "step" process worked!
Although they were using JAM, still similar situations. No more pop-up window.
Uninterrupted recording all night!

Thanks Auria community!

OK, I tried to duplicate this, and I don't see any issues except the coreAudio bus, which requires that you always plug headphones in before you plug in a device. If I don't do this, it crashes, but this is expected.

Here's what I did to prevent it from crashing:

1. Make sure Auria is closed by double tapping on the home button
2. Make sure the Jam and the headphones are unplugged
3. Start Auria
4. Plug in the Headphones. Wait a few seconds.
5. Plug in the Jam.

After I did this, I waited for the USB indicator to come on, and then record enabled track 1. I had no issues.

Please let me know if this works for you, and if not, what you did differently.

Note: you won't see this problem in most other apps, because Auria uses the new Apple MultiRoute category, and coreAudio has a bug that causes this to happen when using it.

Thanks,
Rim
