Count in jumps to bar number

Post by RobB » Sat May 25, 2013 9:18 am

I don't know if this is a bug, as it's consistent with how the snap function only snaps to displayed bar numbers when set to bars.
So, with count in set to on and the cursor at a bar start but not on a displayed bar number in the timeline hitting record starts the count in then the cursor jumps to the nearest displayed bar number and starts recording from there.

Hope that makes sense. :)

I discovered this because I zoomed out a fair way to record something as the screen doesn't scroll in record mode.

All DAWs work this way with count-in. In order for count-in to work correctly, you must start at a bar division. If you don't, it would start counting 4 bars, then the metronome would be out of time after it started playing. You'd hear this as a jump. So Auria starts the count-in at the nearest bar division.

I knew I wouldn't explain it well :D

Eg.
With bar snap on, snap cursor to start of bar 6.
Zoom out a bit so bar 6 is not displayed as a number in the timeline any more.
With count in on start recording.
Should record from bar 6 start where the cursor was.
What happens is the cursor jumps to the nearest number displayed in the timeline and starts recording from there.

Aha, gotcha. This is a bug, and I'll get it fixed for 1.10.

Thanks!
