A bug regarding the freeze function
A bug regarding the freeze function
I just froze a mono track and everything was panned to the left.
Re: A bug regarding the freeze function
It sounds like you might not have the latest Auria update, as we had a similar bug which was fixed in 1.06. You can check your version number in the settings page (it's listed at the bottom right).

1.06 it says.
Re: A bug regarding the freeze function
In that case, if you can let me know exactly how to duplicate this, I may be able to find this and fix it. The best way to help with a case like this is to create a new project, and write down the exact steps for me to follow, so I can make it happen here as well.

Re: A bug regarding the freeze function
I don't even know how i got the second track to be all mono, because the sample isn't. I'm always trying to work in mono, because i think that might reduce cpu usage, but i still don't know how to convert the tracks.Rim wrote:In that case, if you can let me know exactly how to duplicate this, I may be able to find this and fix it. Either way, it just happened once, and after i froze the track a second time everything worked fine.
Re: A bug regarding the freeze function
There must still be a rare bug in there somewhere. If you find a way to replicate this, please let me know so I can find it.
It's possible that the mono or stereo status of the track changed when you imported some audio.

Re: A bug regarding the freeze function
I think i ran into similar problems: my version is 1.150
Here's whats happened:
1) new project
2) add mono track (mono sample 44.1 - n fact a recording from a zoom R16, Direct out Bass)
3) add any (i tested BIAS and Amplitube) IAA plugin
- sounds ok, mono signal on the fader, stereo at the output, pan works as expected
4) Freeze //to free the cpu of the plugin load
=> fader still shows mono, but sound is only at "L" - if i pan to the right it's dead silence
Unfreeze
=> back to usual
workaround (at least it worx for me ...)
5) add a stereo plugin - i just the stereo delay with wet to 0
=> the fader now shows a stereo track
=> Freeze runs smoothly, everything perfect
(and now the strange thing):
6) remove the stereo plugin (Toggle to "OFF" or set to "none")
=> The Fader is _still_ showing a stereo track
=> Freeze runs smoothly, panning works as expected
???
Hope this helps

Re: A bug regarding the freeze function
This appears to be a new bug related to IAA and mono tracks. I'll add this to the list for the next update.
Thanks,

I've just fixed this, and it'll appear in the next update.

Re: A bug regarding the freeze function
Hi Auria team!
I was reading this and some other posts regarding this problem/bug and I'm still not shure if it is a bug or a limitation on the software.
I'm using Auria 1.151 with a Focusrite 18i20, and this is what I'm doing (and you can recreate this steps):
. New project
. Create a mono track
. Record from a mono source (like a guitar)
. Insert a stereo effect (like CVerb Pro Stereo)
. The track still shows a mono meter on fader but the output is stereo (perfect till now!)
. Fereze the track
. The meter on fader becomes stereo
. Unfreeze the track
. Now the channel is permanently stereo, even removing all insert effects.
The BIG problem is that I can't record it from a mono source anymore.
If I open the Input Matrix, the channel is assingned to two inputs from 18i20, which is bad, because it WAS a mono channel and my source is mono!
What can I do? Can I assign this channel to only one input again?
IMHO this is not the perfect behavior for studio recording. It will be fantastic if the Mono track could remain a mono track no matter we do.
Thanks you!
Marcel

Hi Marcel,
Yes, I am aware of this, and it's on my list to address for a future update..
Thanks,

Thank you Rim, for the quick response.
I'll be wainting for this update. Please make it sooon!
And, by the way, congratulations for this fantastic piece of software. Auria is my favorite!
