Audiobus approved by apple.

Great news for those of us who have followed the development of this promising concept.

Auria support for this one would be killer! :)

We're one of the early developers working on AudioBus. I can't give any specific estimate on when it'll appear in an update, but we're working on a full implementation in Auria.

So what does this mean?

Does it mean we'll be able to start using other app with Auria like Drum Jam?

There is a good faq on the Audiobus blog that gives you an overview of the possibilities.

It'll be interesting to see how AudioBus, Auria, and another app deal with CPU. I hope it works.

Ya I hope the next iPad gets a real push on the CPU side this time around. And double up the ram wouldn't hurt.

Unfortunately, I can't afford to buy a new iPad every time Apple releases one.

There's no reason for Apple to do that, really, because an iPad is not a production tool per se :) Nearly everything works very smooth already, except for true pro stuff that's trying to push the limits, like Auria. But we're in a huge minority, really.

Pffff. I've made several high-end productions on a Pentium IV 3 GHz with 1 GB RAM, with old Logic 5.5.1. So, an iPad 3's specs should be more than enough ;)

As long as you aren't going crazy with track counts that have heavy plugs, you'll be fine...

@instinctive- by pure coincidence I am having to install logic 5.5 on an old laptop to retrieve some old sessions..
What a nightmare!

@Dubhausdisco: Hehe. Well, the software was basically very powerful and flexible... but God, the user interface...

So if you have any questions... I still have it all in some dark corner of my mind ;-)
