I've been writing, and recording for years, but alway had someone else do all the tech stuff, i just told them how i wanted it to end up, and they made it happen. Now i'm doing it all myself and i'm clueless much of the time. This is my very simple situation:
1) 2 vocalists on separate tracks
2) Singing a complete verse of a song in unison
Without re-recording I need vocalist 1 one singing the first part of the verse alone, and then the second vocalist singing the 2nd part of the verse alone.
I'm thinking moving faders up and down is not precise enough. Automating the mute button would be an option, but I can't figure out how to do that. Using volume automation would work, but would be tedious over 3 verses.
Any thoughts?
Is volume automation best for this task?

Hello,
You can use adjust the size of the regions using the trim handles (the arrows on either side of the regions), Tap and hold on an arrow, then slide once the larger arrow appears. Slide the right side of the first region to where you want it to end, and the left side of the second region to where you want it to begin. This way you can still adjust the audio using the faders and the vocals will be in the right spot.
