Random interface question

Hi,
I'm a bit of a novice in terms of DAW recording so I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I can use the Presonus 1818vsl without actually having a computer to download it's software? I use an iPad 2 32gb as my 'studio' and I want to use the Presonus to record my band. Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, you can use the 1818 without needing to connect it to a computer. On some interfaces, you can use a computer to set up certain features, like monitor mixes and gain levels but the 1818 has actual gain knobs, so it's easy to use without a computer.
