Thanks I’m going to exchange my unopened 12 inch for 10 since I have an extra case lying around and custom iPad stand for the 10.

Apple won't be announcing a new USB C CCK and we shouldn't really expect one to come out this year (IMO). One day it will just appear on the Apple Store for sale.
If anyone is feeling daring enough and wants to try one of these adapters: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product. ... 002P-000R8
Please report back as to whether it works.

Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that Apple cares enough about its Garageband and music making customers to push a new dongle through. Not that we need more dongles around. :D

Will the lightning CCK work with. uSB-C to lightning adapter? If not, how are we supposed to input audio with the new Pros?

From what I saw at the apple store they have a usb c multimedia adapter. It connects usb c, hdmi and usb 2 to it. That might be the adapter we have to get to get our rigs to work. They also make one that is just usb c to usb 2. I think I have that right.

I am still getting a new iPad, should I get the 11 with the 6gb of ram or get the 12.9 with less ram?

Decisions, decisions, decisions. I need some help with this. The new iPad Pro will be sweet. I am going to get the 512gb model. Do I get the 12.9 or 11 inch model or, do I get the 1tb model with the extra ram? The chords and wires will work out just fine.

Any boost in power is a good thing and I’m sure you will see an improvement in performance with all your apps and you will likely see that even in the base model. As far as spending a large amount of money on the 6g 1Tb model that is totally up to an ones budget but my thoughts on this is to start out with the base model and wait for someone to run tests on the different models then if the difference is worth the upgrade, use the apple upgrade/trade in option or simply sell the base model and purchase the top model.
Personally I wont be upgrading to the new model as I already have 2 iPad Pros and they work fine for me. Cheers and hope this helps your decision.

Thanks. Your input helps a lot. Since you’re likely using your iPads for more advanced projects than I am, and are experiencing no bottlenecks with only 4GB of RAM, I think I will opt for the 512GB model this time. Are you using iOS 12? Is there any reason that I shouldn’t finally upgrade to iOS 12 on my 2017 iPad Pro 20.5 (currently running iOS 10)?

Thanks for all of the input. I use iOS 12 and have not had any problems with it. I use to have a 12.9 but I am getting a new iPad very soon. I just can’t decide on the 11 of 12.9 model. I think I am getting the 512gb model too. I am tossing the idea of the 1tb model though. I have been working with more synths lately. The space will free up more room. Anyone use the 11 or 12.9 model? Which one would you get?

Just found out Apple sells a usb to usb c adapter for $19.
The 11 inch looks appealing just not sure if the base model holds a 6gig ram.

This article covers everything the USB C port on the new iPad Pro's can and can't do. Pretty helpful:

BTW, the following devices work just fine with the new iPad Pros:

Headphone audio out and USB-C power pass-thru:

Then run this into a hub such as:

Don't fancy having that thing hanging off the port!

Hanging off the port is not great but it has a headphone jack on it. Thank you for showing that adapter. Headphones are the only thing left, I need to figure out. This adapter might make it easier to do everything.
