no visuals in the wav, but there is normal sound...bug?

Post by Marcel » Sat Jun 09, 2018 10:02 am

Auria Pro, ipad air 2, latest ios.
The wav is empty, but there is normal sound. Wav format is 16 bit, also tried it with 24 bit, same thing.
Known issue?
Sorry if this issue was posted and answered before.

Looks like you have your waveform gain slider turned down. it's one of the sliders on the upper left of the screen. This controls how large waveforms appear on the screen.

Many thanks for your replies, Rim and Corey W! I wasn’t aware of that slider......
I immediately moved the slider after reading your reactions, but no, thats not the answer, see the picture: track 1 still has the problem/bug.

There's another thing to check on that track - the gain handle. In the center of the region, there's a handle you can pull up and down. This adjusts the gain of the region. See if that's set to something other than 0dB.

I see what you mean. I have set it to -0.9 Db and +11.4 Db. Nothing happens.

The only other thing I can think of is perhaps your overview files got altered in some way. You can manually delete the entire overview folder in your project and Auria will re-create it. The easiest way to do this is by using the built-in Files app in iOS.

Couldn’t find an Overview folder of the project in the Files app, but found it within Auria itself, deleted it, and when opening the project again I saw it did rebuild the other tracks, but there was no difference in track 1. Its a bit weird. Perhaps the wav file itself is somehow corrupted. It is not that important, I have copies of this track 1 music file, so I do have backup. When I import the same track (but different copy obvious) via AudioCopy into the same project, it is alright, there is wave image. I guess this track 1 particular copy is corrupt.

I can’t remember very well how I imported this problemtrack 1 into Auria, my best guess is: the app AudioMastering > share file > export > open file in > Auria....but also is possible I exported from Audiomastering to Audioshare to Auria.
I recently think the best workaround to import wav files into Auria is via AudioCopy (you then also avoid the file system in Auria, which I think is not too good, it is hard to find files in it).
