How to stretch audio clip and have pitch just change as it would?

Post by jkjelec » Tue Jan 30, 2018 1:44 pm

Hi all,

I see time stretching available as a feature that allows the pitch of a clip to remain the same, which is great to have. But is it possible to time stretch a clip and have the pitch change naturally as it would when running a tape machine slowly? Or similarly, time compress a clip by half and thus have it's pitch change to be an octave up? Thank you for any help!

No, it's currently only possible to either timestretch a region, while the pitch stays the same or to use the pitch function to change the pitch of a region while keeping the length the same.

No, in fact there's a way, but not in the timeline: export the audio to lyra as a sample and play it across the keyboard: lyra, as most samplers, stretches the sample to pitch shift. Then you record it. It's exactly what you want; I myself use it all the time. Enjoy!
