Can you recommend a Midi keyboard

Post by pieman » Fri Jul 21, 2017 10:41 am

Hi everyone

I've finally decided to take the plunge and update my IPad to a new 12.9 inch iPad Pro 2 and to get Auria Pro

I've been looking at it for ages, and I'm really looking forwards to using it, as it looks, frankly awesome!

I'm treating myself to a Audient ID4 interface, but I also want to get into the Midi side of things but don't know where to start with a keyboard!

Is the IK Multimedia keys pro ok, or can anyone recommend something different for about the same price.

Thanks in advance for all your help

In that price range you should check out the Novation LaunchKey. It's a great MIDI controller and HUI compatible so the knobs and faders will control certain parts of Auria's mixer and can also be MIDI mapped to other apps.

The Behringer UMX610 has a nice action and runs on batteries, so you can connect it to an iPad with just the CCK and a USB cable. Many other keyboards will need a power supply or powered hub.

I have the four octave UMX490 version which is no longer available.
