A workaround for recording automation of audio units w/ Aum

Post by krzycrs » Thu Mar 09, 2017 1:53 pm

A workaround for Auria Pro audio unit controlling using Aum.

Open Aum, add iSem auv3 as input on a track.
Open Auria Pro, in mixer view, add a midi track with Instrument=none, arm.
Add a stereo track, tap (FX) and insert Kymatica: AUM (Port 1), arm,
set the track's output to Sub1, turn down the volume on the Sub1 track.
In Aum select the first track's output to IAA / AB Output 1 (Auria icon),
on a second track set the input from Inter-app audio/Auria Pro/Auria Pro Sub 1.

In Auria, tap (FX) on the midi track, and for midi output select CoreMidi: AUM.
Change to track view, enter some notes, choose a cc, for example Undefined (CC20),
draw your curve.

In Aum, open the menu, go to Midi Route, make connections between 'AUM' Destination -> iSem@Ch 1 and -> Midi Control, enter Midi Control, choose 'AUM' Destination, go back, and on CHAN 1 > in Parameters > enter the channel (=1) and cc (=20) for say cutoff (VCF Freq).

Tap play (if you haven't already) :)

P.s.: This will also come handy if you have an external midi controller attached.

P.p.s: here https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/1788 ... all#latest a slightly different approach integrated w/ audiobus.
