How does Pro-R compare with the Convolution Reverb?

It's much better IMO. The convolution reverb lacks any kind of EQ so if you want to use it as a send you need to daisy-chain an EQ before it, otherwise the results aren't great.

Pro R is much more tweakable sonically and sounds great.

I've done a comparison of it vs a couple of AU reverbs (Virsyn AudioReverb and DDMF Envelope) on the Audiobus forum:

Compare any FabFilter to any other 'similar' and there is your answer.

I did put the Convolution on last night for CPU comparison. Pro-R is a little greedy there. I've mentioned this to Fabfilter, we'll see what they say..

But overall it's what I/you'd expect from them and what we expected in our dreams ;)

Clean and pretty, audibly and visually.

Excellent!

....................

Also I have tested out the 'Spectrum Grab' - in Pro-Q2, works effortlessly.

Enjoy!

One key thing though, is if you/most people have other FF's your most likely gonna have to have this folks.

Outside or Auria (and within too) my other reverb is 'AudioReverb', it sounds very good also..

For the longest time I have been using 'PianoVerb2' on Aux 1 (and various places) but it was just temporary-ish (in my mind). AU and Fab will be changing this... I think now I'll use 'PianoVerb2' on.. piano, to get its true use. (Or maybe not) lol
But I guess I'll still use it for sure, use them all 'SpringVerb2' too, and the other AU ones.

We are now in the midst of a change in iOS's musical abilities and features. Not to long ago we (some of us) were pining for more AU's more Link, more this, more that - now! - it's happening - soon! - we'll be really spoilt for choice (if not already) in all areas, and it will be the norm. Another big example of this change is 'ReSlice'.. Wow.

And with certain upcoming apps, truly in the pipeline, its a bigger WOW! and yet, soon to become the norm.

But today is (((REVERB))) day ;)

Good Times,

King

So very cool that FabFilter added Spectrum Grab to Pro Q2, and in such an elegant way! Using Pro Q2 on my iPad Pro 12.9 in full screen mode is an absolute joy.

Fantastic update to a fantastic DAW.

(I must admit I've been doing most of my work on my PC of late, mainly because of IAA's failings and the ease of monitoring on my PC, but with the rise of AU on iOS, and Auria's continuing refinement, I imagine things will swing back a bit to the iPad's direction. And in the end, though I have a mountain of fabulous plug-ins on my PC, the FabFilter plugins really are in a class by themselves on any platform, and at a fraction of their desktop price in Auria).

Thank you very much for enabling ultra low latency buffers! Recording live instruments with 32 frames is a pure joy, and my iPad Pro can do it with THM enabled, so it's really like using a real amp/stomp (I always freeze it after tracking, just as a precaution).
