Why is my Mic only recording in one side?

Post by Vorgongod » Wed Jan 11, 2017 2:05 pm

Ok, so I have a Shure 58 going through a Roland Duo Capture ex into Auria Pro, but it's only recording on the side I've plugged the mic into (the duo has 2 input slots). Any ideas about how I can get a stereo signal?
Thanks in advance.

If you want to record your mono signal so that you can hear it centered just make sure you create a mono audio track not stereo. Only create a stereo track when you are using both of your inputs at the same time. If you have created a mono track and for some reason you are getting sound only on the left, this will happen if you insert a stereo plugin into a mono track, Auria will change the mono track to stereo to accomodate the stereo plugin. So always insert a mono plugin on a mono track. All midi tracks are in stereo. Cheers and hope that helps.

Thanks so much! It works! That's what I love about this forum: sometimes I read theeads where I barely understand what's being asked about as experts discuss things. But when a midiot like me asks a q which is very basic, I get friendly useful answers. Cheers!
