Audio to MIDI???

Post by gwishin » Thu Jun 02, 2016 11:41 pm

Hey All,

Auria's website says that "Auria Pro's Audio to MIDI conversion turns audio drum parts directly into MIDI tracks". I have gone through the manual and can only find two mentions of "Audio to MIDI" using the trusty ctrl + f search feature. I have also looked through (at least what I think are) the relevant parts trying to find out how to do this, but I'm still clueless.

Can anybody point me in the right direction with this one? Thanks in advance.

You'll find info about this in the transient section of the manual. Auria has "Audio to MIDI transient" functionality. It works by turning every transient into a MIDI note. To use it you basically use "Copy Transient Markers" in the Transients menu to copy all your transients to the clipboard. Then you choose a MIDI track, and use the "Paste As MIDI" function (also in the transients menu).

that's interesting. Didn't know about this (I prefer Harrison Mixbus on a small Windows tablet with large USB hub, somehow a better solution than iPad/Auria for me for a portable recording system). Thanks for the hint.
