MIDI with Pro

Post by IndustrialOkie » Mon May 23, 2016 12:20 pm

I've upgraded within the older version of Auria, and I'm getting no midi devices to use.I would like to think my extra $40 went to something useful. Please help.

If you create a MIDI track (Menu> Add Track), then click on 'FX' on the MIDI track and then open the Instrument dropdown menu, do you see 'Lyra', 'FabFilter One' and 'FabFilter Twin 2' all in yellow but no instruments in white available in each category?

Corey-

Thanks for your attempt to help. So far this is where I am in the process you described;

I've selected add a track.

I've selected midi track.

I've selected FX.

At this point I get the generic "channel strip- +1 rack" I've always had since my initial Auria download years ago. Still no MIDI instrument options.

Check on the top left of that channel strip box that you have open. Should be two tabs, "midi control" and "channel strip". Tap midi control.

You did read the manual?

Hmm. Nothing but the same default sound effects.

Thanks for attempting to help.

Can you share some screen shots. The fact that you're able to add a midi track indicates you are using the Pro version.

NP. I have done enough of that in this app. It's a complex beast. I still think it's the easiest to use DAW I have tried yet, but it takes some time.

So what was the fix? It might help others that fall into the same hole.

My biggest problem is having experimented with dozens of DAW's over the years. Jack of all trades and master of none.

The short answer is the MIDI additions were downloading on the far right of my screen, past even unused tracks When I finally paid attention to them, I realized I could open the included instruments in them.

Auria is an amazing DAW not just for the iPad, but period. It has its learning curve like anything, but 15 years ago this level of quality with an iPad Mini and a lighting cord mic would have been unthinkable.

Kudos to the staff and and support team.
