Analog style VU metering?

Post by supanorton » Wed May 04, 2016 7:58 am

Hey folks,

I'm looking for a(n) IAA/AudioBus/app/Plugin with an old style analog VU meter that I can use in the master channel. Anyone know of one?

I found this, which I'm sure is a great suite of tools, but it's a steep price ($20 for app, $3 for IAP VU meter) to pay for a VU meter.

I have the PSP Microwarmer. With all controls set to zero, is it essentially a VU meter?

Thanks

I am on the hunt for something similar... essentially I would like a true RMS Db Metre as I am lead to believe the Master Meter which is located on the bottom of your Main Master Channel is only a peak level indicator?

Either way, I do find the Analogue style better for what I am trying to achieve.

This must be the app to get, because I see it mentoined on several sites from home recording to room acoustics to music making.

Seems if you look at his other apps, he has a spl meter for 99 cents.

I'm want to try the mixing technique in the link below. If I set the Microwarmer's controls to zero, can I use its meters? I'm thinking yes, but I'm not positive.

Studio Six AudioTools App is expensive considering 75% of the app features needs to be purchased separately...

Looks great and handy for live monitoring or physically checking any input in a studio...

Cant see that this app was ever designed to be used as a plug in. Should have checked before buying!

Just tested with the Microwarmer's VU meters, and it seems to work. I'm going to remix some tunes and see how it goes.

Thanks.
