Hi there,
I've just started using Auria pro with my new itrack dock. Am using a bad cat unleash to load down my guitar amp, and taking the direct out from the unleash to go into the itrack dock. As per https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/2656 ... m-auria/p1 , I'm not using overload, but have attempted to use auria's convolution reverb to load in an IR.
It works, however, there's a distinct lag even at 128 buffer size (almost like a slapback echo). Does anyone have any suggestions for me to reduce this lag? I can lay tracks down and then apply the IR later, but ideally I'd like to do things 'real-time'.
Thanks for your help.
lag when loading guitar cab IR in convolution reverb
Re: lag when loading guitar cab IR in convolution reverb
Convolution reverb is not really designed for live use. It's an intensive algorithm that introduces latency. I suggest using ClassicVerb Pro instead, or record your guitar parts first, then use convolution reverb later during playback/mixing. Auria has delay compensation, so there's no latency when you play back tracks using convolution reverb.

Thanks Rim, I've tried it again last night, oddly enough, it seemed to work this time (with a new audio project) no real issues there.Rim wrote:Convolution reverb is not really designed for live use. Oddly enough, I realised that starting up a new project, also allowed me to run 2 mono convolution reverbs, which may have helped? I need to RTFM more when I have time, but at the same time I did appreciate your response. At least I know that it's to be expected, and will be looking for some workarounds.
Re: lag when loading guitar cab IR in convolution reverb
It's possible your buffer is set to 128 now, and earlier it was something higher because iOS didn't allow 128. When you go into Auria's settings page, you can see what your requested buffer size is and also what iOS has decided to use (in parenthesis). Those don't always match.
