How can I use the fader in tracks

I am trying to figure out how to find and use the fader function for my guitar tracks. Can anyone help with this?

I thought i saw this somewhere in a tutorial in the edit screen. There was a diagonal line that can be drawn in similar to pro tools.

Ah! :D I think you're referring to the 'Fade Handles'. The quickest way for me to explain them is to refer you to pages 56-59 of the Auria User Guide. Pg. 53 on 'Trim Handles' will also be useful to you.
