http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jul12/a ... nphase.htm

here is a link to some info and a plugin by waves but they mention a couple more and a hardware unit as well. I use the Audient Mico which has a VariPhase Control from 0 to 360. The waves plugin looks like it will do the trick for you. Not cheap Im sure. Good luck and let us know how you solved the problem. PS you could ask your mastering engineer to help you fix your problem by giving him or her the stems of the guitar tracks to see if they have any phase software. Cheers.

This is very perplexing. I like Anthony's idea about the guitar recorded into a stereo track instead of mono. I have experienced this myself and it can cause exactly what is going on.

Good luck guys.

Well it was the stereo file containing two identical mono tracks cancelling each other out when set to mono referencing. I was able to fix the problem by converting the original stereo mono files into straight mono while still preserving all the original track settings and automation. Look out for some killer tracks from this artist TimmyG. I was impressed. Cheers MartyGras.
