Imported 32 bit wav gets louder

Post by NilsOstergren » Tue Feb 24, 2015 11:30 am

Hi

Imported a 44.1 32 bit wav file recorded in Twistedwave (iOS 7) from Dropbox to a project. Auria (iOS 7) told me to wait while converting and then I found the file extremly louder than the original. After saving the project to Dropbox the file had it's original levels. Then I uploaded the same file from Twistedwave set to 16 bit to Dropbox and imported it to the same project in Auria and the levels vere normal.

Can someone please explain that and figure out how to import 32 bit files?

Did the same with a 32 bit aiff-file. No problems so I'll use aiff when I can, but it would still be nice to be able to import 32 bit wav.

Auria doesn't normally have a need to do any sort of conversion when importing a 32 bit file (it will natively play 16 24 or 32 bit files without any conversion). It sounds like perhaps you were trying to import a file with a different sample rate from the same rate of your project? There's a conversion process that happens in that case.

Thanks, I'll look in to that.
