Hey gang,
In the 90's I used SoundForge on PC to remove pops and clicks on recordings I made from vinyl albums. Now I have a USB turntable that I can record right into Auria using the CCK.
I want to do this process completely on iPad, so I need suggestions about which plug-in might work for this. I have most IAP's for Auria so I should be able to tame these transients without adversely affecting the audio.
Any ideas will be helpful.
Oh, and happy new year.
Marty

Re: Need help: Removing pops and clicks from vinyl recording
did you use a plugin in Soundforge or did you cut out each click manually?
With software it is a difficult process, and I'm not sure if a restoration suite is available on the iPad at all. With manual cutting/lowering levels it can be done in Auria, but I wouldn't do that. And using Auria plugins won't give good results I'm afraid.

WavePad Audio Editor for iPad claims to do this. The app is free with iAP of this feature called Spectral Subtraction Effect. I have not used this app so I can't say for sure if it really works but the research I've done says it does. Cheers and goid luck.

Thanks Anthony, I'll check it out.
@aconweb: I have hokusai, but the interface is so alien, I just can't even...
I believe I was using a standard feature made just for that purpose. It must have been part of the program because I had a free version that came with a midi interface in the early 90's.
Thanks everyone for the help. I will try to follow up if I can remember to. Sorry, I'm old.
