Copying track settings to another project

Post by jadmorffier » Sun May 04, 2014 11:06 pm

I've been using this app since Oct 12' and still feel like a noob. :D

Tinkering with knobs and plugins I found a default vocal sound I'm really happy with. Now what if I want to use that same sound in other projects? How do I go about copying the settings for that track so I can use them elsewhere?

To share plugin settings with another project, just save your settings as a preset. To do this, click the preset box at the top of the plugin (or channelstrip/masterstrip), and choose "save preset". After you name it, you'll see this preset available in all your projects.

Thanks Rim but that does'nt seem to do what I want. It doesn't remember any plugins when I save a preset this way. All it does is remember the Expander, EQualizer and Compressor settings in the main FX window.

I want to save all of a track's settings uncluding the FX window, all plugins being used and all of their settings as well.

You can save each individual plugin's settings this way as well.

But if you want a more global preset, which includes all plugins, I recommend making yourself a "template" project. To do this, just use the "Save a Copy of Project" function. This will make a copy of your project, which you can use as a template. Every time you want to start a new project, load this template, then use the Save Copy function again.

Ah nice, the global preset, that is what I'm after.

Thanks once again Rim. Much appreciated.

+1 global track presets (including any PSP channel strip settings)
