I don't seem to be able to Solo the Aux's. I can Mute them, but the solo button doesn't light up and the Aux doesn't solo. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

That's on purpose - you need to turn off Solo Safe in the settings to be able to solo them manually. The solo automatically turns on when you solo a track that uses the auxes normally.
