AURIA IS SIMPLY AMAZING

Post by stevencirile » Mon Feb 03, 2014 4:33 pm

Rim,
And Company: Long time fan of drumagog. I was lets say skeptical at best about auria actually working for real.
So I knew older Ipads were/are weak in cpu horsepower-we al know what that means in audio worldd. I reluctantley picked up an ipad air (I am a die hard PC guy-still am actually) at WalMart (yea..I did). Got home bought Auria..Load demo project..messing w/ it over last day I gotta tell anyone on fence..Buy an pad Air. Buy Auria..get a decent Interface-and other usual gear associated w/ good recording..and your set. I have a half million dollar studio running Nuendo 6/Ableton...12 Core i7 PC rme hammerfall w/ a Yamaha DM2000v2 Console..No ipdad can replace this. Plus the Rooms to track in..etc. etc...that being said...IF I didnt need my studio (Rooms/Console/Phone patch) for my steady Audio/VO Clients/Broadcast Client...I NEVER would have spent the $$ on all that gear...Auria/Ipad Air/Apogee or similar HQ Interafce..Good Monitors (I use Trident HG3's) few good mics....DONE...Yea Im sold..My Brother is skeptical I will change his mind when he plays with this little device/auria. Its like a Slate Raven Console in your lap!.
Now this being siad I have not recorded anything yet-so I am concerned about latency-We have Direct Monitoring w/ N6/RME w/ a 3ms latency..at 256 buffers w/ the i7. Once I get an interafce and do some tracking I hope ill find monitoring latency less then 3.5 ms....about the max until you hear it. (in my opinoin). Anyhow-AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
keep imporoving it..and as Ipdad get more powerful,,,,.....Am I correct in assuming you have delay compensation for plug ins Like Nuendo? Is the recording (monitoring latencies as low as 3ms?)
Looking forward to beringhers 18 x 18 mixer for live grabs..and sound man tasks all in one shot...Steven J. Cirile

you can get to 128 samples, not sure what that is in ms. feels pretty tight to me. I wonder if Auria will go to 64 and 32 samples in time.
