Quick snapshot feature

Post by Shay » Mon Jan 06, 2014 3:09 am

Hi Rim,

The "save snapshot" operation doesn't show the list of existing ones.
I find myself opening the list, to see the existing names and then saving a new one.
Is it possible to add a "Save quick snapshot" entry on snapshots menu to save a snapshot using the date+time signature as a name?

This a feature can become later a button, which will not interfere with the creation flow and let us backup the project and keep it safe.

The auto-snapshot is fine for crises but I prefer to have control over my snapshots.

Thanks,
Shay

If you select Save Snapshot, then just press enter, without choosing a name, it will automatically assign the next available name. Also, you can see the timestamp it was created in the list afterwards.

Thanks Rim, I didn't know it's possible to leave this field empty.

So first one will be "snapshot" and then "snapshot1", "snapshot2", etc... ?

Yep, it'll actually pre-fill the name box, so you'll see what the suggested name will be.

Rim,

Just a reminder that the creation time info gets lost when you back up to Dropbox or an external drive. The time stamp changes to reflect the backup time stamp, not the creation time stamp.

Having an option to have default FILE NAMES use a time stamp would be great!

:)
